The original Skywalker was bred in Amsterdam by crossing Mazar (a pure Afghan indica) with Blueberry. To fix this, breeders took that Dutch Skywalker clone and crossed it with the legendary California OG Kush.

Skywalker OG differentiates itself through its growth structure. While GG4 wants to grow straight up into your lights, Skywalker OG wants to grow sideways, creating a wide, bushy canopy that requires specific training techniques.
Most growers prepare for the “flower stretch” by raising their lights. With Skywalker OG, the stretch happens horizontally.
1. Double Trellising is Mandatory
When you flip this plant to a 12/12 light cycle, the lateral branches will shoot outward and begin packing on dense, heavy buds. By week 6, these branches will snap under their own weight if unsupported. You must install a double trellis system—one net at the canopy level during late veg to spread the branches, and a second net 12 inches higher to support the heavy colas during mid-flower.
2. Aggressive Lollipopping
Because the plant grows so wide and bushy, the lower third of the plant will receive zero light. If you do not lollipop (remove all lower growth and bud sites) before week 3 of flower, the plant will waste vital energy producing useless “larf” (fluffy, airy buds) instead of bulking up the top colas.
3. The CalMag Demand
Thanks to its OG Kush and Afghan lineage, this strain is a calcium and magnesium hog. During the mid-flower bulking phase (weeks 4 through 6), it will rapidly deplete your medium of these micronutrients. You must supplement heavily with CalMag to prevent the fan leaves from developing rust spots and yellowing prematurely.
Skywalker OG requires a hands-on approach. Here is your roadmap for a successful 9-week flower cycle.
The plant establishes a strong, thick main stalk with broad, dark green fan leaves. Keep your EC at 1.0. The internodal spacing will be moderately tight.
Top the plant above the 4th node to break apical dominance and encourage the lateral branches to catch up. Begin weaving the branches through your first trellis net. Push your EC to 1.4.
Switch your lights to 12/12. Over the next 21 days, the plant will stretch outward significantly. Keep tucking the branches horizontally. Transition to bloom nutrients and push your EC to 1.8. Install your second trellis net.
The stretch stops, and the bud sites begin to cluster and swell rapidly. Trichome production goes into overdrive, and the fuel/earth aroma becomes pungent. This is when you must increase your CalMag supplementation. Keep your humidity strictly below 45% to protect the dense calyx clusters from bud rot.
The colas will be incredibly dense and sticky. Begin your flush 10 to 14 days before harvest.

1. Ignoring Humidity in Late Flower.
The buds on this strain are rock hard. If your relative humidity creeps above 45% during weeks 7 through 9, moisture will get trapped inside the colas, leading to devastating bud rot. You must have excellent airflow and a strong dehumidifier.
2. Failing to Support the Branches.
Because of the lateral stretch, the heaviest buds end up far away from the main stalk. Without a double trellis system or bamboo stakes, the branches will snap under the weight of the flowers.
3. Underfeeding Calcium and Magnesium.
If you notice brown rust spots or interveinal yellowing on the upper fan leaves during mid-flower, you are starving the plant of CalMag. Stay ahead of this by supplementing early in the flowering cycle.
